we were required to use in design to create a decent portfolio.
in design gives you the ability to add interactivity, sound and animation to your portfolio
firstly we had to gain an understanding on how to use inDesign
so our first lesson was to learn how to use the basic features of inDesign.
all the tools were pretty much self explanatory though there were some things we were taught that will be quite help full for my final portfolio. for example we were shown how to add a page flip affect into the document, buttons to change picture or pages.
our first lesson we concentrated on the print side of in design learning how to put frames on the document to know were to account for bleeding. we played around with text and the shape tools in order to create the I logo at the top. we were also showed how to cut backgrounds out of an image
our second lesson involved learning how to add in interactivity to a document. the first main important thing i had to remember was to change the intent to web. this meant that i was then able to add in interactivity.
after this we were shown how to use the button feature to create links to other pages
this was simple to do and was helpful for letting the person viewing the portfolio to be able to navigate to any specific page they wanted.
we were also shown on how to use buttons to create small slide shows on the pages. even though i did not plan on using this technique. it is highly helpful as if i were to add allot more pictures then i would be able to show a large amount of images with it also being organised
we also used buttons to once again navigate through a portfolio. this time instead of having the choices of what pages to go to the only choices that you can chose is to go to either the next or previous page
all these tutorials helped me to gain an understanding on how to use this program. in order to create a good quality portfolio to showcase my artwork and skills
